Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the access to and use of the website https://www.satheachi.org and the Sathe Achi mobile application (collectively referred to as the “Platform”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Platform.
Sathe Achi is a social welfare initiative run by the Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College 83 Sathe Aachhi Welfare Association (JGECSAWA), a society registered under the West Bengal Act XXVI of 1961, bearing Registration No. S0036287 of 2023–2024.
1. About the Association
The Association is a registered society formed by the alumni of Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, Batch of 1983, with the objective of carrying out welfare, charitable, and social support activities. All activities conducted under the name “Sathe Achi” are governed by the Association.
2. Eligibility and Access
- Use of the Platform is permitted only to individuals who are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under applicable Indian laws.
- Certain features of the Platform are available only to registered members who have been provided login credentials by the Association.
3. Member Accounts and Responsibilities
- Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials.
- Members agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information where required.
- Any unauthorized use of a member account must be reported to the Association immediately.
- The Association reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to any account found to be misused or in violation of these Terms.
4. Acceptable Use of the Platform
Users agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with the objectives of the Association.
Users must not:
- attempt unauthorized access to the Platform, servers, or databases
- interfere with the security or normal functioning of the Platform
- misuse member-only information or facilities
- upload or transmit misleading, harmful, unlawful, or defamatory content
- impersonate any individual or organization
5. Information and Content
The Platform may display information related to Association activities, announcements, facilities, and services. While reasonable efforts are made to ensure accuracy, the Association does not guarantee that all information will always be complete, current, or error-free.
The Association may modify, update, or remove content or features at any time without prior notice.
6. Donations (If Enabled)
If donation facilities are provided through the Platform:
- All donations are voluntary and made to support the objectives of the Association.
- Donations are processed through authorized third-party payment gateways.
- The Association does not collect or store debit card, credit card, UPI, or net banking details.
- Donors confirm that the payment method used is lawful and authorized.
Donation acknowledgements or receipts, if applicable, will be issued based on the information provided by the donor.
7. Refunds and Cancellations
Unless specifically stated otherwise, donations made to the Association are non-refundable. In cases of duplicate transactions or technical errors, donors may contact the Association within a reasonable time for resolution.
8. Third-Party Services
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services, including payment gateways. The Association is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of such third parties, and users access them at their own risk.
9. Privacy
Use of the Platform is also governed by the Association’s Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform, including text, logos, graphics, and design elements, is the property of the Association or used with permission. Unauthorized copying, reproduction, or distribution of Platform content is prohibited except as permitted by law.
11. Suspension and Termination
The Association reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Platform without prior notice if:
- these Terms are violated
- unlawful or fraudulent activity is suspected
- such action is required for security, legal, or administrative reasons
12. Disclaimer
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While the Association takes reasonable steps to maintain security and availability, it does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Association shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the use or inability to use the Platform.
14. Changes to Terms
The Association may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts as per applicable law.
