“Sathe Achi” – A Bond Beyond Time
Sathe Achi began as a heartfelt initiative by the 1983 pass-outs of Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College (JGEC)— born from the simple desire to stay connected and support one another through life’s journey. What started as casual conversations and informal reunions gradually evolved into a structured platform, driven by the belief that true companionship goes well beyond college years.
As the years passed and our lives spread across cities, countries, and careers, the need for a community-based support system became more apparent. Whether it was helping someone with medical needs, offering guidance during a career transition, or simply reconnecting after decades, the spirit of “Sathe Achi” — meaning “We are with you” — grew stronger.
Today, Sathe Achi is more than just a group. It’s a living, evolving network built on empathy, trust, and shared legacy. It offers a dedicated digital space for every batch, enriched with shared features like:

We believe that institutional goals and personal support can — and should — co-exist. Together, they make the alumni ecosystem more complete, connected, and compassionate.
Sathe Achi is a community-led initiative, run by alumni for alumni. It reaches into the everyday lives of pass-outs — providing companionship, encouragement, and assistance when needed most. In doing so, it complements the official alumni body by adding a deeply personal dimension to the broader mission.
